From the twisted mind that brought you the award-winning indie smash “Village Books” comes this hilarious tale of one man’s visionary plan to live forever – by wiping out pretty much every other living thing in the process.
Mark Simms is a humble insurance analyst who has no idea that his company’s CEO, the mysterious George Hudson, is the same man who disappeared over a century ago during a Royal Society expedition to a remote area in central Greenland.
The purpose of the expedition to finally explain the mystery of the origin of all life on earth.
One hundred years later, Hudson is almost ready to take the final step towards immortality. His plan involves sinister weather control technology, a massive global surveillance network, transferring his consciousness into a large and heavily-armed cyborg that only malfunctions “on occasion”… and killing pretty much everyone else. He may have forgotten to mention that last part in the annual report.
Mark is probably not going to be able to stop any of it, but he’s going to try. The only people who believe him are his conspiracy nut childhood best friend, Max, and the elusive Violet Haze, a hacker genius woman from his past who may figure prominently in his soon-to-be-foreshortened future.
Like the “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”, “The Apocalypse Club” is about putting a positive spin on the end of it all.

This is why free books are a great thing for authors to do because I would never have read this book if it were not free. Now that I have read this utterly fabulous book, I shall now go and buy the rest of this author's books. It has been a long long time since I have laughed so much while reading a book. The character development was great and the dialogue between them all, plus the recollection of memories was truly excellent. The story was great too. I liked that it had a decent ending and was not a cliff-hanger while still leaving room for a sequel. I am sorry this read is over because I have enjoyed it immensely. Well done mr McLay. 6 stars. :-)Product details

The Apocalypse Club eBook Craig McLay Reviews
I am not a professional reviewer and don't care whether all the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed. I read simply for the pleasure of reading and judge a book on whether I want to keep turning the pages or close the book and start another. I have read 4 other Craig McLay's books and the only thing he has failed to do is disappoint me. The Apocalypse Club was no exception. What kept me interested is the banter between the 3 main characters which gave me a chuckle at the end of a long hard day at work. If Craig keeps writing, I'll keep reading.
very entertaining
Absolutely wonderful. I love this sci-fi and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I cannot wait until The International Cinema Society comes out. Craig McLay' s writing grabs you from the start and you do not want to put it down.
Unexpetedly good! Excellent humor and nice characters. Lke it very much.
This book started out excellent. Then in the second part, it got tedious obnoxious and boring. I do not like the style of writing applied, though I suppose other people do. Inexplicably parts of this book is written in the present tense those parts are utterly unreadable.
This novel was an absolute ton of fun! The dialogue was absolutely hilarious and the interaction between the characters was priceless. I highly recommend this and Mr. McLay's other novels as well. He writes like he really enjoys creating these characters and makes it worth you time to sit down and take it easy and just relax and enjoy the banter. I have just downloaded his newest effort "The International Cinema Society" and am looking forward to reading it.
This was the best book I've read this year! The characters were terrific. I just wish there was a series about these guys. I'm going to try all of the author's other books, but I don't know how he could top this tour de force. There were times when I thought the plot was crazy and then it got just crazier. Talk about a fresh "voice". Not like anything I've ever read before. Just a warning, it started real slow and I didn't have any idea what was happening in the Victorian era part. However, I hung on until the modern day stuff and then it took off. The best part is the dialogue and the banter between the characters. A satirical adventure story, with a nice side of romance.
This is why free books are a great thing for authors to do because I would never have read this book if it were not free. Now that I have read this utterly fabulous book, I shall now go and buy the rest of this author's books. It has been a long long time since I have laughed so much while reading a book.
